VETERINARY TECHNOLOGY

With training from µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï, you can earn your AAS degree and get the training you need for this rewarding career in as few as 84 weeks!


At µÚÒ»³Ô¹Ï, our Veterinary Technology program is designed to prepare students for professional certification and immediate entry-level employment as Veterinary Technicians. CCC’s Veterinary Technology program is accredited by the (A.V.M.A-C.V.T.) and is the only C.V.T.E.A.- accredited program offered in the Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz tri-county area.

The Veterinary Technology program has a total program length of two academic years (84 weeks); in the first year, students complete the Veterinary Assistant program, and in the second-year students fulfill the requirements for an AAS degree in Veterinary Technology.

  • Prerequisite: Completion of year 1 of AVMA CVTEA Veterinary Technology program and faculty recommendation

 

In the Veterinary Technology program, students will:

  • Receive first aid and CPR training, as well as real-world on-the-job experience through an Externship.
  • Be prepared to earn and receive their Associate’s of Applied Science, Veterinary Technology degree.
  • Be prepared for immediate entry-level employment as productive employees capable of upholding a high standard of personal accountability, integrity and work ethic.
  • Gain the skills and knowledge to test for the National and State Veterinary Technician examinations. Graduates of the Veterinary Technology program are eligible for State licensing as a Registered Veterinary Technician (R.V.T.) after successfully passing the (VTNE) and .

Graduates of the two-year Veterinary Technology program will receive an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.
